Amelia: 7 Months

  • Height: 27″
  • Weight: 16.6 lbs
  • Sleeping patterns: After the recent time change, Amelia’s new bedtime is 1800, with a morning wake up time around 0730. She has been all over the board this past month during the night. She slept until 0400 a few nights, and then other nights she would wake up once around 0100. But for the most part, she is still waking up twice a night, even three times a few nights (which I blamed on her incoming tooth). The good thing is that she eats and goes right back to sleep. Her naps now are 0900, 1245, and 1600.
  • Feeding schedule: Amelia nurses after waking up and is really enjoying eating solid food. There hasn’t been much that she turns her nose up at. She is eating solid food twice a day now, breakfast and at dinner.
  • Sounds and motions she makes: Amelia is going to be a talker because she just loves to babble and squeal. She just jabbers away at us and I can really tell she’s trying to tell me something. She loves to smile and laugh and will cock her head to the side when she sees us doing it. She still loves to kick her legs, especially in her crib and prefers standing to sitting. Her favorite exercise is when I give her both of my hands and she grabs on, using them to pull herself up to a standing position. She just recently figured out that her jumperoo bounces and has really enjoyed bouncing up and down in it. She is getting pretty strong in her grip, not to mention fast. If you blink your eyes, she’ll grab the food off your plate!
  • Likes and dislikes: Amelia loves interacting with us and laughing. Whether it be playing close by or having me hold her, she doesn’t like to be away from us. If she’s in her jumperoo and I walk by, she will make eye contact with me and give me the biggest smile. She has really enjoyed playing with Easton this month. He always seems to be able to get a good laugh out of her and she really enjoys chewing on his toys. She is such a happy baby and will chew on just about anything. When I go in her room to get her after a nap, she kicks her legs and greets me with a smile. Amelia has also enjoyed her jumperoo this month and playing with one of her many stand up toys while I hold her upright. Even when I take her on a walk in her stroller, she doesn’t want to lay back, but instead prefers sitting upright so she can see everything. She has also really enjoyed swinging for the first time this month! She dislikes being ignored or left alone for too long and missing her nap time. She’s also not a fan of brother not sharing his toys.
  • By the end of the month, she is learning to: Amelia is interacting more with everyone and becoming an active part in our family. She brings a smile to everyone’s face and loves all the attention. Her second tooth has come in – her bottom right central incisor finally poked through. Well, I guess you could say it’s now her first because the back right molar that had poked through has since disappeared. She is eating solid food like a champ and has really perfected going from a sitting position to laying on her belly. She is working on her speech by talking up a storm and building up her leg muscles with all the assisted standing that she does. She is also becoming more aware of her surroundings. While pushing her in a swing one day, she turned her head and followed a few birds that were flying overhead.
