Wondering what to decorate your home with in between the holidays? Everyday decor doesn’t have to be boring. It can still look beautiful with just a few simple pieces.
On our mantel I decorated the chalkboard with a classic laurel wreath framing our family’s initial, complete with the year we got married. White candles match Morley the moose and dahlia flowers sit on top of a DIY glitter book I made. The books were easy to create, I simply covered each side with a thin layer of mod podge and then sprinkled on some gold and silver glitter. As for the flowers, dahlia’s (my favorite) were in season at my local farmers market. They can easily be changed out each week depending on the time of year and what’s available.
I tried my skills at free handing this chalkboard art and I’m pretty proud at how it turned out!
The pie safe is decorated with simple white candles in large green vases and a felted flower wreath I made a while back hangs above it. The candles are remote controlled and turn on with the push of a button! Home Goods always has some for a great price.
Our dining room buffet is decorated with green apples in clear glass vases. No need to change out anything for a while! Except most of the stores I’ve been shopping in lately have been filled with Halloween and Thanksgiving decor… a gentle reminder that the holidays are right around the corner!
As for now, I’m enjoying the simplicity of our home decor as I pin away on Pinterest, planning what new things I’ll add to my seasonal decor this year!
